What to Bring
Here is the list of things that are necessary or optional to bring or not to bring when coming to Peaceful Village.
- A flashlight or headlight, preferably one that uses rechargeable batteries.
- Even though it is mostly warm here, it does get cool sometimes. So we recommend bringing some warm clothes and a rain jacket.
- Many of us walk barefoot here or use sandals. However, some people may be comfortable wearing rubber boots when working in the forest. Most sizes can be easily purchased in town for around $10, but it´s hard to find large european sizes over 44.
- Reusable water bottle.
- If you would like to bring candles, make sure they are vegan and not from Beeswax, because it is not harmonious to steal from the Bees.
What Not to Bring
- Do not bring any soaps, shampoos, washing detergents, incense, perfumes, deodorants, or other chemically scented products, even if labeled vegan or organic, as people here are allergic to strong smells. Just wash with certain fruits like Lime, Lemon, Orange, Banana, Avocado, etc. You can also use baking soda, bicarbonate sodium if you´d like.
- We don´t advocate the internal consumption of cooking oils, even if cold-pressed and organic, as it is extremely detrimental to our health and hard to clean off the dishes.
- As mentioned before, do not bring anything that is derived from animal ingredients. Visit the list of animal-derived ingredients to learn what to avoid in non-vegan products.
